Danny Battochio
There are few goaltenders who achieve a cult status at a tender age. Danny Battochio is one of them. Nicknamed Batman, Danny is the junior hockey superhero for the 67’s Ottawa fans. And why not?
This young goaltender, who returned from a corrective vascular strategy, single-handedly carried the Ottawa 67's, to the OHL finals in the 2004-05 season. He had fans rooting for him with his dramatic saves and outstanding games. What’s more Danny turned the fortunes of 67’s Ottawa around at a time when they were struggling.
Danny who is 5’10’’ has amazing reflexes. He plays the angles and puck well. Also, what his teammates like most about him is that he does not give away easy rebounds for the opponents to seize.
Danny moves quick and fast in front of the goal, and never allows the advantage to slip away from him. That is why his colleagues consider Danny to be a positionally sound player with a great future.
The Canadian Hockey League has already bestowed upon Danny the award of the Goaltender of the Week. This honor came when Danny picked up a pair of shut outs. He has a great record when it comes to saving shots.
Danny was born in Sudbury in 1985 and is passionate about ice hockey. If he had his way he would probably live on the ice rinks, dreaming defenses and saving goals.
