Mathieu Garon

Long legs and a huge frame set Montreal’s Mathieu Garon apart from other goalies currently playing in the big time. Despite being a large man, Garon has displayed his ability to be quick and agile. Moving around the 182 pounds of his 6’2" frame may seem like a difficult task but Garon makes it look all too easy.

Known for his amazing glove ability, Garon is making quite the splash in the NHL. Even though he tends to have a problem with consistency, Garon is showing the entire world that he has what it takes to be the man in front of the pipes.

Garon displays an uncharacteristic good attitude, which his team mates and coaches surely appreciate. Taking well to various training methods and suggestions, Garon has grown to be a top end goaltender.

The spotlight is no mystery to Garon. In 1995 he clinched the Raymond Lagace Trophy, the same year he was named to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League All Rookie Team. 1997 was also a banner year for Garon as he was enlisted for the Canadian Hockey Leagure All Star team, won the Jacques Plante Trophy and managed a Canadian Hockey Leagure Goaltender of the Year award.

There is little doubt that Garon will be among the great ones of the game and help his team on the road to major victories.
