NHL Hockey Goalie Update

Henrik Lundqvist is now 13-7-2 on the season after he made 34 saves in the New York Rangers' 3-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

 

Ray Emery stopped 26 shots for Ottawa but allowed 2 goals in a 3-1 loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

 

Martin Brodeur made 19 saves as the New Jersey Devils win their fifth straight. Brodeur allowed only one goal to Marc Savard in the second period.

 

Hannu Toivonen relieved Tim Thomas at the start of the second period. Toivonen stopped 25 shots in relief but allowed three goals in the third period.

 

Tim Thomas, who was playing in his 21st straight game was lifted at the start of the second period. Thomas who had 12 saves in the first period also allowed two goals in the first period.

 

Ryan Miller earned his 15th win of the season on Saturday against the Canadians. Miller made 31 saves in regulation and overtime as the Sabres won the game in a shootout.

 

Cristobal Huet made 31 saves in the shootout loss to the Sabers. Tomas Vanek scored a slap shot goal to win the shootout for the Sabers.

 

Alex Auld has started the last three games. Auld 31 saves as the Panthers lost to the Islanders 5-4 in a shootout.

 

Rick DiPietro earned his 12th win of the season with 28 saves against the Panthers.

 

Marc-Andre Fleury and the Penguins ended their four-game losing streak by beating the Atlanta Thrashers. Fleury had 20 saves in the 4-3 win.

 

Kari Lehtonen made 40 saves but allowed four goals in a loss to the Penguins. Colby Armstrong made the winning goal in overtime against Lehtonen.

 

Andrew Raycroft was pulled after two periods Raycroft had 19 saves but allowed five goals, all power plays. Maple Leafs lost 5-1 to the Red Wings.

 

Dominik Hasek won his 14th game as he stopped 21 shots in a 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs.

 

Brent Johnson made 33 saves and received help from his offense which supplied five goals in the 5-3 win over the Flyers.

 

Antero Niittymaki lost his 13th game of the young season as the Flyers lose 5-3 to the Capitals. Niittymaki had 27 saves in the loss.

 

Jean-Sebastien Giguere earned his 19th win as he captured 24 saves in a 4-3 win over the Lightning.

 

Marc Denis made 21 saves in a 4-3 loss to the Ducks on Saturday.

 

Brian Boucher stopped 33 shots in an overtime loss to the Wild. Mark Parrish scored the winning goal in the 5-4 win.

 

Manny Fernandez stopped 22 shots scoring his 12th win of the year. Frenandez allowed four goals three which were power plays.

 

Fredrik Norrena came within a goal of posting his third consecutive shutout as Columbus scores a 5-1 victory against the Blues. Norrena had 24 saves in the win.

 

Jason Bacashihua allowed four goals on 25 shots in Saturday's loss against the Blue Jackets. Bacashihua had 19 saves.

 

Marty Turco and Dallas needed overtime to beat the Coyotes 4-3. Turco had 28 saves in the win.

 

Mikael Tellqvist had to deal with 44 shots and made 40 saves but allowed a Jere Lehtinen overtime goal to give Dallas the win.

 

Miikka Kiprusoff and the Flames scored a 5-3 victory over the Canucks. Kiprusoff had 26 saves.

 

Roberto Luongo had 20 saves but allowed 4 goals before be pulled in favor of Dany Sabourin who had 13 saves and allowed no more goals to the Flames.

 

Chris Mason had 23 saves but allowed three goals, two in first period as the Predators fall 3-1 to the Sharks.

 

Evgeni Nabokov and the Sharks collected their 21st victory as Nabokov collected 20 saves and allowed only 1 goal on the 3-1 victory.

 

Jose Theodore had 33 saves but allowed five goals with three sneaking by his right leg.

 

Dan Cloutier and the Kings scored a 5-4 win over the Avalanche as Cloutier had 26 saves but about let the lead slip away with three goals allowed in the third period.

 

Martin Gerber was pulled in the second period for his poor play as the Senators lose 6-2 against the Blue Jackets. Gerber allowed four power play goals with only nine saves. Ray Emery did better saves 16 goals and only allowing 2 goals.

 

Pascal Leclaire stopped 17 goals without allowing a goal and Fredrik Norrena had 14 saves allowing 2 goals in the Blue Jackets victory.

Dwayne Roloson had 23 saves but allowed 3 goals to the Blackhawks. This is Roloson’s 9th loss of the season.

 

Nikolai Khabibulin continues his solid play by only allowing one goal in the in the Oilers 4-1 win. Khabibulin also had 18 saves.

 

Ed Belfour only allowed 2 goals but still lost to the Rangers 2-1. Michal Rozsival struck early in the first period against Belfour on a power play. Belfour had 26 saves in the loss.

 

Kevin Weekes showed good reflexes and athleticism by collecting 34 saves. Weekes had a possible shutout until 10 minutes into the third period when Mike Van Ryn's slapshot snuck between Weekes legs.
