Barry Brust gave up 5 goals in 2 periods and made only 15 saves before being pulled in favor of Los Angeles Kings goalie Yutaka Fukufuji who became the first Japanese-born player in the NHL when he started the 3rd period Saturday night. Fukufuji allowed 1 goal and had 4 saves in a Kings 6-5 loss.

 

Manny Legace stopped 25 shots and allowed 5 goals but still got the win as his offense gave him 6 goals to work with and Legace got his 14th win this season.

 

Senator’s goalie Ray Emery made encountered 40 shots and stopped 37 shots as the Senators beat the Canadians 8-3.

 

Cristobal Huet was pulled in the 2nd period against the Senators after giving up 6 goals on 25 shots. David Aebischer didn’t fare much better allowing 2 more goals and only have 6 saves.

 

Henrik Lundqvist ended his two-game losing streak by making 24 saves and allowing only 1 goal in the 1st period as he captured his 19th win of the season.

 

Tim Thomas made 35 saves against the Rangers but allowed 3 goals and the Bruins took the 3-1 loss.

 

Flyers goalie continued his rough season as Antero Niittymaki made 34 saves but allowed 4 goals and Niittymaki collected his 23rd loss.

 

Marc-Andre Fleury had an easy night facing only 18 shots. Fleury collected 15 saves and allowed 3 goals. He got his 18th win this season.

 

Ryan Miller encountered a rare loss, only his 8th of the season against the Lightning. Miller allowed 3 goals and had 20 saves.

 

Marc Denis showed to have the chops to go up against an all-pro like Ryan Miller by allowing only 2 goals and stopping 32 saves to get the win against the Sabers.

 

Andrew Raycroft struggled against the Canucks Saturday night by allowing 6 goals. 5 of the goals came on power plays. Raycroft had only 15 saves in his a5th loss this season.

 

Roberto Luongo was the opposite of Andrew Raycroft as he led the Canucks to a 6-1 win over the Maple Leafs. Luongo had 35 saves in his 25th win.

 

Kari Lehtonen picked up his 20th as the Thrashers beat the Hurricanes 4-3 in a shootout. Lehtonen had 24 saves and allowed only 3 goals, 1 each period in the win.

 

Cam Ward made 23 saves and allowed only 3 goals but still lost to the Thrashers in a shootout. That was Ward’s 12th loss.

 

Chris Mason had a season high 39 saves and allowed only 1 goal on a power play to collect his 18th win.

 

Fredrik Norrena played only 1 period on Saturday after giving up 3 goals on only 9 shots. Ty Conklin gave up just 1 goal and had 4 saves after replacing Norrena.

 

Chris Osgood gave Dominik Hasek the night off and had a good showing making 33 saves and allowing only 3 goals to help the Red Wings get the win.

 

Nikolai Khabibulin made 26 saves but allowed 5 goals and the Blackhawks lost their 4th straight game.

 

Martin Brodeur made 27 saves to pick up his 27th win Saturday night against the Islanders 2-1 in overtime. Brodeur had the shutout victory until 19.58 in the 3rd period when Miroslav Satan slipped the puck by Brodeur on a power play to send the game into overtime.

 

DiPietro made 28 saves but allowed an overtime goal and the Islanders lost 2-1. This was DiPietro’s 15th loss.

 

Olaf Kolzig faced a staggering 41 shots in just 2 periods and allowed 5 goals before being pulled for Brent Johnson who allowed 2 goals and had 11 saves in the loss.

 

Ed Belfour on the other hand only had to deal with 17 shots and stopped 14. Belfour picked up his 10th win of the season.
