Belfour assisted on Jay Bouwmeester's power play goal in the second period to help his own cause. David Aebischer and Cristobal Huet split duties in the Montreal net, Huet stopping 14 of 15 third period shots, all but Olli Jokinen's third goal of the game. Down 3-1 with seven minutes to go in regulation in Los Angeles, the Philadelphia Flyers stormed back with three goals in just over three minutes to beat the Kings 4-3. The Kings' Dan Cloutier finished with 26 saves, while Antero Niittymaki sealed the win with 23 stops. Tim Thomas, in his second start in as many nights, backstopped the Boston Bruins to their third straight win with 24 saves. Patrice Bergeron beat the Maple Leafs' Jean-Sebastien Aubin 34 seconds into overtime to provide the game winner in the 2-1 victory. Aubin's 34 saves weren't enough to avoid his first loss of the season. Starting Toronto goalie and former Bruin Andrew Raycroft missed a second straight game with a groin injury. 
Nashville and Minnesota combined for 90 shots on goal, 45 each, with the Predators denting Manny Fernandez for five goals and Niklas Backstrom for one while the Wild scored six times on starter Chris Mason. The Wild stormed back from a 6-3 deficit and won 7-6 in a shootout, with Brian Rolston's SO goal the difference maker. Manny Legace had to excuse himself early from the St. Louis Blues' net as well last night, yielding to Jason Bacashihua after four Edmonton Oilers' goals. Dwayne Roloson anchored the defending Western Conference champions' 6-2 win at home with 25 saves. Curtis Joseph's 32 saves led the Phoenix Coyotes to a 3-2 shootout victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Brian Boucher had 25 saves for the Hawks.
