Scott Clemmensen

Scott Clemmensen was born on July 23rd, 1977 and is an American by birth. He is a professional ice hockey goalie. He presently plays with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). The New Jersey Devils drafted Clemmensen in the 8th round. The overall was 215th in the Draft. Before that Scott used to play junior hockey with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League (USHL). After being drafted Clemmensen started playing college hockey with the Boston College Eagles from the year 1997–2001. Scott won the NCAA National Championship with the Boston College Eagles during the final year.

In the year 2001-02 seasons Scott made his debut in 2 games for the New Jersey Devils. This was while he played for most of his rookie season with the
Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League(AHL).He was affiliated by the minor league of the New Jersey Devils. Scott played for the next three seasons in Albany. He as a starter competed with Ari Ahonen of the Devils. During the year 2003-04 Scott was called. Scott played 4 games for the New Jersey Devils making 1.01 goals against average (GAA). 

Scott Clemmensen after following the 2004-05 NHL lockouts started playing permanently as a backup for Martin Brodeuer. Scott appeared in 13 games while starting from game 9. Scott Clemmensen made a posting of 3.35 GAA during the season for year 2005-06. Clemmensen appeared in 6 games next in the year following that season. This was done to relieve Brodeur. He recorded a 3.14 GAA. During the off-season Scott played as a free person. The Devils by now signed Kevin Weekes as a backup of Brodeur. A contract was signed by Clemmensen which is of one year. That was a two-way contract signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs in July 6, 2007. Scot played for most of the season of 2007-08. The breaking part started along with the team named Maple Leafs which has its first rounder Justin Pogge along with the team Toronto Marlies of the AHL. Scott played 3 games for Maple Leafs. Scott played his first game with Maple Leafs in January 1st, 2008. He got a chance due to an injury received by the starter Vesa Toskala. Scott recorded a 4-3 shootout and won the game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.Clemmensen and continued playing the starting game in place of Pogge hence helping the club into the Western Conference semi-finals. The semi-finals were with the Chicago Wolves.  

Scott returned to the New Jersey Devils on 10th of July, 2008 after signing a contract for one year. The 2008-09 seasons was started by Clemmensen along with the new affiliate of AHL, the Lowell Devils. Brodeur then suffered from a bad leg injury in the early period of the season. Hence Scott got a chance to play to backup Kevin Weekes, the second string goalie. Clemmensen played well and was called as a backup for Brodeur for the 2009 playoffs because of an injury for Weeks.
